lingerie shower

One of my best friends is getting married in less than a week. We have been celebrating nonstop and continued to do so at her lingerie shower. Though there are photos I would love to put up, I will refrain for they would cause embarrassment for the bride-to-be. You're welcome Ash!

War Memorial

My friend Tom works for TPAC and is currently helping out with renovating the backstage rooms at the War Memorial Auditorium. Awesomely enough, he asked me to paint some old instruments to hang in the red room shown below, which will function as a place for the artists to hang out and have a drink (at that awesome hand-built, wooden bar).

He showed Jared and I around, lounging a bit in each of the rooms. The place was empty, so we were able to check out the stage. It's funny how a place like that can look so small with no one in it.

My favorite part of the auditorium would have to be the ceiling, as shown in the first picture. I just wanted to lay right there on my back and stare.

Brent and Darcie

I recently took my brother Brent's engagement pictures with his fiance Darcie in Huntsville. Weather wasn't on our side that day, but we were still able to get in some good shots. We are next planning on taking some in the fall in Downtown Franklin.

Here are a few samples from the shoot. Love them both.

Huntsville Weekend

I had a wonderful time in Huntsville this weekend, visiting my brother and his fiance and watching an old friend get married. The first day, the four of us spent some one-on-one time with each other while having the best sangria ever from Mason jars and eating yummy Mexican at Rosies Cantina. I snuggled up all night with their cat, Millie, who I saved when she was a day old, and then I was licked repeatedly by their ever pleading dog, Sydney.

The next day I took the first half of Darcie and Brent's engagement pictures (soon to come) and went to my friend's wedding. I cannot believe my friends are starting to tie the knot.

It was a good weekend.

Missing Aegina

The Island of Aegina can be found not far off the coast of Greece, about a 2-hour boat ride from Athens. It has cobblestone roads and crystal-clear water. Church bells double as alarm clocks at the small, quaint hotel. The inside of the old building is open to the sky, a roof having never touched the surrounding walls. It is filled with flowers of all kinds and there are the tiniest of twinkle lights that weave up the iron staircase. The bedrooms are the crisp, traditional blue and white of the Greeks, with soft linen that feels good on a sunburn. It's the kind of place you fall asleep with the windows open, the soft chatter of the night owls mixing with the waves. The kind of place where you make friends with the non-English speaking owners, communicating only with awkward, genuine smiles. It's the kind of place you could never leave.

I miss Aegina.
