Lauren and Daniel :: Engagement Photos :: part 1

Here is the first set of engagement pictures of Lauren and Daniel! For the shoot, the couple took me out to where Daniel proposed; A dirt trail lined with bright green foliage alongside the river. It was the perfect spot.

Back in Charleston

During my visit to Charleston I found myself always looking up at the bright colors and architecture of the buildings. I fell in love with Spanish Moss, and I revisited the old, beautiful Angel Oak. I relaxed all day on the beach and, of course, I ate far too much. I devoured my southern dish at Husk, and I find myself daily wanting my brunch from Poogan's Porch.
You can't go on vacation and skip out on the local cuisine. You just can't.

Boone Hall

I have always had a thing for trees. Boone Hall has magnificent, hundreds of years old trees dripping with Spanish Moss. The driveway to the plantation is covered by a canopy of these giant oaks that have entwined their roots beneath the ground, promising them what seems to be everlasting life. I wish that the people who planted these trees could see what they have become, not to mention the rest of the plantation.

Sullivan's Island:: the best day

I was lucky enough to recently go visit my cousin Lauren in Charleston, SC for a wonderful few days. Lauren had moved to Charleston from Denver back in October of 2011, when she quickly accepted an amazing event planning internship and moved her life to the East Coast. How awesome is that?!

During the trip we ate entirely too much, ran along the Battery and through town, fell in love with Spanish Moss, danced over red velvet cake, and spent an entire day on the beach. The beach was our favorite. The sun was out, yet there was a coolness to the air, so we balanced the two by wearing shorts and sweaters. We packed a lunch consisting of various dips, apples and home-made cookies. We collected seashells, people watched, poked jellyfish and had much needed conversation. We were surrounded by birds. It took up the entire day, and it was perfect.
