my love for film

There is something about B&W film that gets to me. The grain, the surprise outcome, the developing process-- it's my favorite to shoot with. These photos are a compilation from late 2010 up to my recent visit to Charleston this summer. I just received the images yesterday after sending them off to be processed. I was giddy to see what they looked like.

One of my favorite things to do in college was spend hours upon hours in the lab, developing my negatives and creating my prints. If there is one thing I could choose to be part of my future home it would be a darkroom. I believe film is probably one of the most beautiful art forms that is sadly decreasing in popularity due to cost and the abilities that digital now holds. I, however, will always love film.

These particular shots were taken with a simple Nikon point and shoot. Nothing was adjusted: zoom, shutter speed, aperture--nothing. Just a fun, quick click, and then months later, surprise.
